Calista
As soon as the class ended, I headed home, my mind occupied with Draven's mysterious email. He had left the class quickly and without a word, leaving me anxious about the contents of the message. It must be something urgent and significant for him to avoid discussing it in person.
It felt odd, though, that he wouldn't just say it directly.
When I stepped out of the university's base, I ran into Evangeline. She looked pale and fragile, her usually neat bob cut now long and disheveled. I was taken aback- how had I not noticed this sooner?
She still managed to smile at me. "Coming home early?" she asked.
I nodded. "Kind of?" I replied, catching my breath. "I'm afraid Draven was telling me he might send me a reviewer for our upcoming test, and I might have to check it out." I added with a small smile, and she gave a faint nod.
I walked up to her and gently touched her hand. "Are you okay?" I asked, searching her eyes for any sign of distress.
