  Travis Turner's jaw clenched as he watched Camila lost in her world, oblivious to his presence. She was seated on the park bench, her long dark hair fluttering slightly with the breeze, her brown eyes distant and clouded with turmoil. The sight twisted something deep within him, but his decision was made. With a silent exhale, he pivoted on his heel, his tailored suit jacket brushing against his lean frame as he strode away.

  "Camila," Blake Ward called out, approaching her with an ease that seemed almost forced, his blond hair catching the sunlight.

  She looked up, startled from her reverie. "Blake," she said, her voice steady despite the chaos raging in her mind. "I didn't see you there."

  "Lost in thoughts, I see. Anything I can help with?" His tone held a note of self-importance that was hard to miss.

  "It's... my mother," she started, hesitating a moment before continuing, "There are things about her death that just don't add up."
