A knock on the door halted Karla from hurting Milena.
Milena was nervous as hell, thinking that Karla was ready to attack her. She just waited for Karla to strike, but the knock on the door saved her.
"Don't you ever dare tell anyone what happened here," Karla warned before opening the door.
The one who knocked was a servant in the packhouse. Milena recognized the woman, but her heart was pounding with so much fear that she couldn't return the smile the servant gave her.
The servant informed them that it was time to eat. Karla simply nodded and shooed her away. The servant quickly left.
Karla then turned to Milena. "You know what to do. Pretend like we're on good terms. Do you understand?"
Milena weakly nodded in response, but Karla groaned.
"Do you understand?!" Karla repeated.
"Y-Yes..." Milena answered in a trembling tone.
