CHAPTER 32: Doomed

  "JOSHUA, WAIT!"

Milena tried to keep up with Joshua's pace as she followed him. He was fast, so she really needed to quicken her steps. She felt terrible for her friend; she had left without telling him. The last time they saw each other was when he helped her after she was punished by Karla and locked up in the dark room.

If it hadn't been for his help, Milena didn't know what would have happened to her.

Joshua had always been a good friend to her, and she didn't want to lose him. He wasn't just a friend; he was family.

As Milena tried to run to keep up with Joshua, she suddenly tripped and fell to the ground. Her foot hit a stone she hadn't seen in her hurry.

"Ouch!" Milena groaned in pain as she looked at her now swollen foot. It wasn't bleeding, but it had turned from reddish to purple due to the impact.

Milena was so focused on her own injury that she didn't notice Joshua had already stopped running and was now crouching down to examine her foot.
