Emma's POV
I stared at the burly figure with my lips still parted. His eyes were staring back at me with a look of distrust written on his face. Something about him was unsettling, and it brought a knot to my stomach.
"What are you doing here?" He asked directly, and I swallowed painfully. What did he mean by that? Couldn't he see Parker right beside me?
And as if he heard my thoughts, he turned to look at Parker. "I haven't seen her before. Why are you escorting a stranger through the Pack? What if--" he continued but Parker interrupted.
"Don't worry, she isn't a threat to us," he replied calmly, but the man seemed unconvinced and his eyes still flared daggers at me.
"She doesn't look trustworthy. She might be a thief, or someone sent her here for a reason. How are you sure that she isn't here to cause trouble? Have you seen her before? She shouldn't be here. I can smell something bad from her," he retorted, and he eyed me with those disturbing eyes.
