Emma's POV
I sat quiet in contemplation, my mind racing with conflicting thoughts and emotions. My gazes out at the world around me, my eyes clouded by the weight of my dilemma. I was torn between two paths: staying with the pack, where I had formed bonds and found a sense of belonging, or leaving, to avoid bringing harm to those in the Pack.
"Do they even understand the gravity of the matter? They seemed so reluctant," I whined, feeling a heavy pressure weary down on me.
"You should relax like they assured you," Hailey said, unable to handle my whining. But I couldn't help it. This helpless feeling was something I was used to and the habit was difficult to get rid of.
"Well, that's what they say but we both know that the Nightshade Pack would go to any extent to ruin me for what I did," I retorted feeling a considerable amount of pressure growing inside of me.
"And you think getting worked up over it would solve anything?"
