Emma's POV
My gaze drifted away from Bennett's hopeful face and landed on Parker, who stood a short distance away, his eyes fixed on the ground. His frown was deep, his brows furrowed in discontent. My lips twitched as I took in his disgruntled expression.
Despite the tension between us, I found Parker's sulky demeanor amusing. I had never seen him so defeated, so... human. My heart skipped a beat as I realized that I was actually enjoying his company, even in his misery. Maybe because I didn't want an intern fight between the three brothers.
Parker's eyes flicked up, catching my gaze. For a moment, we just stared at each other, my amusement sparkling in my eyes, Parker's frustration simmering in his. Then, Parker's face darkened, and he looked away, his jaw clenched in annoyance.
My smile grew, and I felt a pang of affection for the brooding man. I turned back to Bennett, who was still waiting for my answer.
