CHAPTER 52: Fear And Regret

  Hunter's POV

I paced back and forth in Emma's room, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. She was always punctual, and it was unlike her to be late without sending word. I had tried to brush it off as mere delay, but as the hours ticked by, my concern grew.

Checking with Bennett and Parker, but they hadn't seen her either. A knot formed in my stomach as I thought of all the possible dangers she might be facing. Had she been ambushed on her way back? Has someone taken her?

My instincts screamed at me to search for her, but I didn't know where to start. I had already scoured the surrounding areas, asked around, and sent out messages to our allies. Still, there was no sign of Emma.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the room, my worry turned to fear. Something was terribly wrong. I could feel it in my bones.
