CHAPTER 26: Chaos and Confrontation

　　The next day, John was avoiding Emily like the plague. He could hardly even look at her, let alone talk to her. Rachel, Rebecca and Isabelle noticed his sudden mood swing but they didn't pry. They figured he was just stressed and maybe he felt something.

　　As they finished up their chores, John got dressed and ready to head out to work. Isabelle and Emily were also getting ready to head to campus. Isabelle joined John by his car and Emily sauntered up with a sly grin spreading across her face.

　　"Oh, you're done too?" John said, trying to sound casual despite his inner turmoil.

　　Emily's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Oh, John, you're ready, right? Won't you drop us off at school too?" She said softly pretending to know nothing and trying to get a rise out of John but John kept his cool.

　　"Sure, I can give you a ride," John said tightly, opening the door for Isabelle to get in.
