CHAPTER 21: Love and loyalty

　　Immediately Rachel settled home, she shut the door to her room with her mind racing with thoughts of John's disappearance and Isabelle's suspicious behavior. She quickly grabbed her phone and dialed Alex's number with her fingers drumming impatiently on the bed as she waited for him to answer.

　　"Hey, Rachel, what's up?" Alex's voice came through the line, calm and collected.

　　"It's John, Alex. He's missing and I think Isabelle might be involved." Rachel said, her voice laced with worry.

　　There was a pause on the other end of the line before Alex spoke up.

　　"What makes you think that?" Alex asked, feeling uncertain.

　　Rachel took a deep breath, explaining the events of the day, from John's disappearance to the confrontation with Isabelle and Alex listened attentively.

　　"Okay then, I'll do my best to find him, Rach," Alex promised when she finished. "I'll check if he's staying with Isabelle, see if I can dig up any information." he added.
