Isabelle woke with a start, her heart pounding in her chest. The darkness around her was unfamiliar and as she blinked her eyes open confusion washed over her. She wasn't at home or anywhere she recognized. The room was dimly lit by a faint, flickering light from the street outside. Isabelle's head throbbed painfully and she struggled to sit up, her body felt heavy and disoriented. It took a moment for her mind to clear, but when it did, she realized with a shock that she was lying on a bed in a hotel room alone.
Isabelle's eyes scanned the room frantically trying to make sense of her surroundings. The bed was rumpled and there was an odd feeling in the pit of her stomach. She was dressed but only partially. Her blouse was unbuttoned and her skirt was askew, revealing more of her than she was comfortable with and a surge of panic hit her like a tidal wave.
