Rachel's heels clicked softly against the cold tile as she made her way down the hallway glancing over her shoulder every few steps. She was late and her nerves were on edge. Her boss didn't tolerate excuses and she knew exactly what his reaction would be if he spotted her. Her hope was to sneak through unnoticed, slip into the dressing room and get ready before anyone could say a word but fate wasn't on her side.
Just as she was about to turn the corner, she nearly collided with her boss standing tall, arms crossed and his expression twisted into an angry scowl.
"Rachel! Do you have any idea what time it is? The customers have been waiting!" He snapped, his voice low but full of irritation.
