Faulkner simply held his ground, his voice calm but resolute.
"This is a legal matter, Ms. Rachel. You'll have three days." Faulkner said and with that, Faulkner turned to leave with his assistants following closely behind. The door closed with a heavy thud, leaving a stunned silence in its wake.
Immediately he departed, John's mind began racing with a thousand thoughts flooding in at once. Emily, the loan, the company, and his fortune were all unraveling and he couldn't understand how it had come to this. His stomach twisted as he sank into a chair with his head in his hands.
Rachel was the first to speak, her voice shaking with anger.
"I can't believe this, that conniving little…. she's taken everything!" she hissed.
John shook his head, still in disbelief. "No… no, there has to be some mistake. Emily wouldn't…..she said she'd come back. She promised." John laminated.
Rachel shot him a withering look trying to explain to him the reality of the situation.
