CHAPTER 28 The paper bag

  Anna sat down on the sofa, the discomfort and irritation in her heart still lingering. She glanced around the living room, her eyes skimming over the paintings on the walls and then to the expensive piano in the corner. She couldn't stop thinking about Ricard, about what he might be doing, and why he was making her wait so long.

  As these thoughts swirled in her mind, Anna's gaze suddenly fell on the paper bag she had received from the delivery man. A thought crossed her mind: *"Should I see what's inside?"* Her natural curiosity, mixed with a hint of jealousy, began to rise, urging her to take action. She reminded herself that, as Ricard's fiancée, she had the right to know everything about him, especially anything that could affect their relationship.

  *"He probably wouldn't mind. Ricard and I are getting married after all. Even though he's outwardly cold and meticulous, he surely wouldn't care about this with me,"* Anna muttered to herself. *"Yes, I'm his exception!"*
