CHAPTER 125 Family

  Quickly, Jackson had taken her home, bringing her out of her wandering thoughts.

  Emma lay on the bed, feeling truly exhausted from the day, yet a deep sense of satisfaction filled her. She drifted into a daze, so tired that she didn't even notice Jackson enter the room. But the faint smell of medicine and, somewhere, the scent of blood made Jackson uneasy. He approached her, looking more closely. The bandage on her hand made him realize the situation was more serious than he had thought.

  "Emma! Are you alright?" Jackson gently shook her.

  Emma opened her eyes and saw Jackson's worried face. She smiled softly, "Jackson, have we been home long?"

  "What happened to you? Ricard said you fell and got hurt. What exactly happened?" he asked urgently.

  Emma sat up slightly, leaning against the pillow. "It's nothing serious, really. I just slipped a little."
