CHAPTER 132 Spreading the News

Emma knew all too well that once word spread about Anna abruptly leaving an important meeting to run off and do charity work, trouble would follow. These fake praises would only draw more public attention, making it harder for Anna to find peace.

Suddenly, a strange sound echoed from the restroom stall next to hers—like someone slipping and falling. Emma's eyes widened, her heart beating faster.

"Is anyone there?" she called out, her voice tinged with concern.

There was no response, just an unsettling silence. Feeling a growing sense of unease, Emma decided to act. She stepped out of her stall and approached the adjacent door. Gently knocking, she asked, "Are you okay?"

Still no answer. A bad feeling crept over her, prompting Emma to push the door slightly. It wasn't locked and opened just enough to reveal a dim light from above, casting shadows over Mrs. Anderson, who lay motionless on the floor, her face pale, her breathing faint.
