CHAPTER 103 Pressure

The late night was silent, and the atmosphere in the large house was one of peace. Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Lauren were preparing for bed after a long day. Their bedroom was spacious, elegantly decorated in warm tones. The light from the bedside lamp cast a soft glow, creating a cozy space just bright enough for them to chat before drifting off to sleep.

Mrs. Lauren leaned back against the pillows, while Mr. Thomas sat beside her, flipping through a few pages of the book he was reading. Her gaze was gentle but tinged with concern. She turned to her husband and softly asked, "You seem more pensive than usual today, Thomas. Is something bothering you?"

Mr. Thomas paused, closed the book, and placed it on the nightstand. "Nothing serious, Lauren. Just a few things at the company, but you know, we've faced tougher challenges than this."

Mrs. Lauren smiled faintly, but her eyes still held a trace of worry. "You always make me worry."
