Hannah’s POV
After the trial and my argument with Lyla, I was so exhausted. I wanted to do lunch for a break but the boss called and now I am here in the office working on a new case. Christian was coming right behind me, but he was nowhere to be seen. The sun filtered through the blinds, casting soft rays across my desk as I sifted through the files for this next case. But I think it is best to throw myself into work and not dwell on recent events. Michael, Christian, the trial. I was mentally exhausted, and focusing on the new case was the best way to push everything else out of my mind.
Just as I was organizing my notes, there was a light knock at the door. I looked up to see Christian leaning casually against the frame, holding a cup of coffee. “Hello,” he greeted me with a small smile that seemed oddly reassuring.
