CHAPTER 70: First Misunderstanding

  Christian POV

As I was sitting in my office, my mind was already racing with thoughts about Hannah. She'd been distant, not in a bad way, but in a way that made me feel like there was more weighing on her than she was letting on.

When I'd asked her earlier if she wanted to grab a coffee after work, I'd expected her to say yes. We hadn't had much alone time, and I figured it would be a nice break from all the chaos of the past few days.

I was a little surprised when Hannah turned down my invitation. I get it, sometimes she just needs her girl time with Aubrey. Still, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

I had been looking forward to grabbing coffee together, sharing some quiet time after everything we'd been through. But I didn't want to crowd her or make her feel like I was always around.

I sighed, leaning back in my seat as I reminded myself of the kind of boyfriend I wanted to be. I love that Hannah's independent, and I respect that about her.
