CHAPTER 76: Unraveled Doubts

  Hannah's POV

As the days passed, my frustration grew, bubbling just beneath the surface like a pot on the verge of boiling over. Christian had been distant lately, his work hours grew out, and every attempt I made to meet with him seemed to be ignored by one excuse after another. It wasn't like him to be like this, but lately, it felt like we were on different pages, in different worlds entirely.

I stared at my phone, the last text I'd sent him still unanswered. I closed my eyes and sighed. I needed to talk to him, to clear the air about what was happening to him? Why is he behaving like a total stranger to me and more than that, I just needed to know where we stood.

But every time I tried to reach out, something held me back. Fear, maybe? Fear that this rift between us was growing too wide to bridge.
