CHAPTER 49 Let them talk

  Genevieve's POV

"Lorenzo has asked me to marry him."

The dining table fell into silence.

That kind of silence will happens when you unintentionally throw up holy communion that's given by the priest in church and the crowd falls silent that if a pin drops to the floor it'll be heard by everyone.

Before the congregation proceeds to call you the child of Satan, hell breakout and other names that's associated with the antichrist.

That's the kind of silence that reigned in the dining room after what I said.

The only sound in the room was the small clinking sound of Noah's fork against his plate as he ate quietly.

  Ignorance is really bliss.

My mother and grandmother were staring at me like I had said something out of the ordinary.

Mother was the first to snap out of her speechlessness.

"I don't understand Evie. Care to repeat that?" She puts her fork down giving me her full attention.

  Oh boy.

"Um... Lorenzo wants to marry me." I replied cautiously.
