CHAPTER 76 Breaking in

  Genevieve's POV

"Oh my goodness, Genevieve! What happened here?"

  Oh no! No... no.

I immediately spun on my heel, half running, half walking as I made my way to the living room. I came face to face with Mom's shocked and bewildered expression as she looked around at the destroyed living room.

"What… what... What happened to our house?" Mom managed to ask, her eyes wide, darting around the damaged living room.

I had to get us out of here before these men noticed us... that's if they hadn't already.

But before I could get a word out, I heard the kitchen cabinet door being slammed loudly, rousing Noah from his sleep as he rubbed his eyes.

"What was that?" Mom asked in alarm, looking in the direction of the kitchen.

"Mom... there are some men inside the house," I whispered.

  "What? Burglars?" she whispered, wide-eyed.

"Yes, and we have to leave immediately and very quietly... now," I whispered, glancing over my shoulder briefly.
