Leila's POV
"I also don't understand why Mr. Anderson is doing all this for you and your brother. What could be his reason?" Mia said.
I decided to explain everything to her, since Luca had peeled out of the damn house, leaving me standing in the great foyer of his mansion. I hadn't even drawn a breath since stepping inside the door, my head still reeling from everything that had transpired.
"Didn't want any damn thing from me," I finally resumed, snapped out of my daze, and further entered the room. "He just threw a bombshell at me and left me with more questions than answers."
Mia visibly softened and gestured at the soft sofa. "Lay it all out for me," she encouraged softly.
I flopped onto the couch cushions, the weight of the entire day settling on me. "And in pops, Luca came to take charge, send me back like I'm some kind of package delivery. He didn't say much either. He kept saying Mr. Anderson was only keeping us safe."
