CHAPTER  40 I Need To Speak With You

  Leila's POV

I picked it up and opened it. It was only a piece of paper inside; one big fold all on and I began unfolding it. My hands were trembling a little bit because of it as I began to read,

"Keep away from them or you'll be sorry."

It was then that a chill ran down my spine, and my breath caught in my throat. It felt, suddenly, as if my heart was pounding in my chest. I was re-reading his words, trying to make something out. Who in the world could send this? What do they mean?

I looked around as though expecting to find someone standing in the shadows. But no one. The room was as empty as I had left it. I squeezed my fists around the letter, my mind in turmoil. This was a clear threat, and dangerous.

I sagged against the bed with the letter still clutched in my hand. I did not know what to do or who to run to. If I told Dominic or Luca it would only make things worse. I decided to keep it to myself.
