Luca's POV
It felt like the anger had planted a seed in my chest, and I couldn't get away from it. Dominic had crossed a line this time. Each passing second of not knowing where Leila was like the knife inside of me twisted just a little more. He thinks he can just hide her; he thinks he is in control of every piece on the board. But I wasn't just another pawn. Not anymore.
I had to start with some kind of search however I could, supported by the staff. Dominic wasn't careless; he didn't leave a trail anywhere. Yet, someone had to know something. A house this big could never hold secrets for long. My first stop was Mia.
I saw her in the hall and walked up to her where she balanced a tray piled high with linens. "Mia, do you know where Leila or Michael are?"
She looked around the hall nervously. "Mr. Luca. I think they left early this morning. They packed a lot of bags."
