Dominic's POV
"So let's just call a truce here and agree to watch each other's backs, okay?"
I nodded, my tension easing just a fraction. "Okay."
"Good," he said, easing back against the pillows with a wince. "Now, tell me about this lead you've got on Robert."
I stuttered, turning back to Leila whose eyes had started to gleam with concern as she watched us. "Nothing," I lied. "Just a lead on a cargo he hijacked. We trace it, see if it leads to him."
"And you're still looking for him, aren't you?"
Luca asked. He took another step closer and his eyes clouded.
"I have to," I said. "He's not going to stop until he's taken everything from me. I can't let that happen."
Luca regarded me for a long, silent moment before he nodded. "I'm in, whatever you need."
I opened my mouth, to protest, to tell him he needed to rest, to heal, but I knew it was a lost cause. He was as stubborn as I was, and he didn't cave.
