CHAPTER 129 A Marriage

  Dominic's POV

The party was at an upscale blast, replete with loud music and full-throated laughter, but even from clear across the room, I could feel the eyes of Mr. Rossini locked on me. I had just about reached for a drink when he nodded towards himself, his eyes brimming with purpose. I knew that look too well, it was a call to business.

He pulled me from the music and laughter down a maze of corridors into his private study. A rich scent of leather and the faint smell of smoke greeted me as he closed the door behind us, muffling the sounds of the party into the distance. He did not waste one single moment.

"Dominic, I have an opportunity that could alter the course of our family histories," he whispered, "One that would assure your position atop the pinnacle of our world."

I arched an eyebrow, "I'm listening."
