Eliza's POV**
I couldn't withstand his piercing gaze any longer. The tension in the room was unbearable, and my heart pounded so loudly that I was afraid he could hear it. Without another word, I bolted from the room, marching upstairs with hurried steps, leaving Cavin alone behind me.
What the hell was happening to me?
I slammed the door to my bedroom and leaned against it, gasping for breath. Cavin had only looked at me, and it felt like my world was unraveling. His eyes had pinned me in place, stirring something deep inside me—something I shouldn't feel, especially not for him.
But it was undeniable. The way my heart sped up when he was near, the way my skin heated under his gaze, the unspoken tension that crackled between us. He wasn't supposed to make me feel like this.
Wrapping my arms around myself, I tried to calm down, but my thoughts spiraled, a mix of shame and forbidden desire tightening in my chest.
