CHAPTER 55 How dare he?

  Cavin's POV

I was buried in paperwork, the usual stacks of contracts and proposals cluttering my desk. Even with the window blinds pulled up, the midday sun streaming into my office did little to shake the exhaustion I felt. My mind was filled with the chaos Adam Robert tried to pull up. But this was nothing new. The constant battle for power, and the endless tug of war with people like Adam and Daniel, kept me on edge. Though David and I were once close, the situation had spiraled, and now every move I made seemed to irritate him further.

I was halfway through an analysis report when a familiar knock sounded at my door. Nathan, my right-hand man, stepped into the room. The look on his face wasn't the usual calm professionalism I relied on—it was darker, tense, and immediately put me on alert. I set down my pen, straightening in my chair as he closed the door behind him.

"Nathan?" I asked, bracing myself for whatever news had him so on edge.
