CHAPTER 32

  Alice

  It's been a week since my hospital visit, and a lot of things have happened since then.

  Nathan convinced me to move to his place. I didn't fight him because even though I didn't like the idea of him financially supporting me, I wanted to live with him.

  Oh, and Nathan also said, "I'm not supporting you. I'm supporting us—get that into your thick skull. We are a team, Alice. Let me take care of you like you take care of me, okay?"

  His words melted my heart.

  So I allowed Nathan to drag me across the country without telling my parents about my pregnancy. According to myself, I've turned into a parasite, and guilt eats me alive every day.

  Still, I've somehow survived living in Nathan's apartment for a week despite feeling totally useless.

  Right now, I'm lying on the couch while Nathan is away practicing on the ice. He promised to bring me pizza after the gym. I feel like such a slob in comparison to him...
