CHAPTER Thirty

  Victoria’s POV

  “I can’t believe you’re alive.” I wept and hugged my grandmother with relief. She beamed at me.

  It had not taken us too long to arrive back to Zane’s. His grandfather was waiting patiently by the main gate and

  “But what about the red river pack? They will come after us won’t they?” I could not help but worry since Alice had witnessed me on the scene. Alpha Evan would not be impressed when he found out that was for sure.

  Zane sighed and pulled me into his chest.

  “It will be ok, don’t worry. They will never be able to hurt you again. That’s a promise!” He reassured me and I felt his fists clench as he said it. I could tell that he hated how I had been treated by that pack.

  I hated it too.

  Every day I had been made to feel like I were nothing but dirt, treated like a slave and forced to starve. I was certain that I would never get out of there, so when Alex appeared it felt like a dream come true.
