CHAPTER 31. My true mate

Isaac explained the best he could, but still, he left me confused. Hearing my brother had saved me that day broke my heart, and I didn’t know why. What has my family been hiding from me? Why was it so important that I should live?

However, the only thing that mattered right now was to run.

I was quickly packing my bag and necessities, and so was William. He went to get Laila, not daring to leave her behind, and Conner went with him for protection.

They thought they were going insane when Isaac stood before them days after he died. They wanted to fight with him, even tried. But they were outnumbered, their own pack members turned against them, holding them in place while Isaac fought for his life.

  A fight he had lost.

I shivered, remembering what I felt when he was taken from me.

“It’s okay,” he whispered, dragging his fingers over my exposed skin to my hands, taking the bottle of pills I clutched onto with my life. “You don’t need those.”
