CHAPTER 31

  DANIKA

Rousing the next morning was a tug of war for me. This was mostly because I had slept off very late last night.

After Lance caught me in the forest, he had accused me of lying to him about not being able to shift. We had to return home, and I had gone to shift back in my room, thankful that no one else saw me. I had come back down the stairs and tried to convince him that it was really my first time.

I couldn't hold back the joy in me while telling him. It was evident and Lance being him didn't take time to believe me. After that, he told me he had to go to the Alpha's house for their usual night meeting. I wanted to implore him not to tell the Alpha yet, but I held my tongue knowing even though he told him, I know Alonso won't believe him.

He thinks only the worst of me, and I'm not going to try to change that anytime soon, especially now that I am trying to accept my identity. This is a new beginning, and I'm going to revel in it.
