Chapter 48

 From Teal's Perspective**

"I feel a rush every time I remember how he moved inside me, but I truly don't want any children right now. I have a long future ahead," I murmured as I left the medical clinic. I had just gotten a contraceptive shot that lasts two years. At least that would give me time to finish my studies and get to know Alexander better. I'm sorry, Alex.

I took the bus back home. I missed my mother so much. When I entered the house, she was sitting in her wheelchair by the garden, two nurses beside her, and Marita standing behind.

"Mom," I called out, throwing myself into her arms. Her faint, warm smile barely formed on her face. A horrible feeling told me she wouldn't be with me much longer, but I shook my head, refusing such dark thoughts.
