(ＡＲＣ １) Chapter 3- The White Rose and Sadness.
*gravity sfx and faint wind in the background*
I was starting to snap out of my trance of 'Pure Anger' as I stared at the "Divinity" before me. What the HELL was a "Divinity"? I was going to find out the hard way i guess... can't lie however, Cathy looked cute like this.
I would find out, with time... But in the present Cathy lunged at Keito Nakamura as she hovered through the air, she tried punching him but her attacks wouldn't connect, so he just popped a bubble in front of her to knock her away.
Cathy Ariston:" What did you do to me?! I can't--"
She uncrossed her arms as she looked down, panic written all over her face and with a hint of something darker underneath.
Keito Nakamura: "Ms. Ariston, you have to understand that this wasn't meant to happen! It was him I was after."
Keito gestured vaguely in my direction, Cathy on the other hand tried to bend down and touch the ground--
She couldn't, it's as if it rejected her, repelled her completely.
James Karawei:"Cathy... Are you...?"
I trailed off in a train of thought, if she got this from that strange vial, could I unlock something similar? COULD THIS TRULY BE REAL? Yes, it was and is and is to come.
Cathy tried to touch the ground again-- growing more and more restless, she tried furiously smashing the ground--
The sound of whooshing air and her faint aura was all that was heard, along with her grunts of frustration.
Cathy Ariston: "You killed me... You-- YOU DESTROYED MY LIFE I'LL NEVER TOUCH ANYTHING EVER AGAIN! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EVEN EAT AND DRINK?!"
Keito Nakamura: "Now now, let's not get too hasty... If you learn to control yourself you can still grab things with the power of gravity! And I didn't even do anything after all, you tackled me--"
She charged at him with newfound fury and rage, her body floating across the ground she once again tackled him and relentlessly 'punched' him with her fists.
The only real damage caused being from the pressure that held him firmly against the ground, he released a bunch of bubbles that got repelled by her aura and exploded randomly in the air.
Cathy was seeing red, that much was clear.
Almost instinctively she raised her hands in the air and all the debris in the area floated upwards, including the bubble jail Jasmine was in.
James Karawei: "Cathy! Calm down! This isn't you--"
I ran around trying to dodge the hurricane of debris and bubbles... she wasn't thinking straight, Keito in the meantime encased himself in 'bubble armor' and made a bubble sword to fend off the debris, it would burst upon contact and he would just remake it again-- quite useful honestly, but this wasn't the time to analyze powers or get distracted, it was do or die.
She slammed her fist down on the torso of Keito Nakamura, the debris guided by the gravity in the air also smashed into him, he was quickly overwhelmed by the double barrage of her fists and the small rocks turned boulders that now flew towards him, yikes...
Keito Nakamura: "I'm sorry... Please... Forgive me--"
*Flashback to 1 year ago, Daiko City, State of Hana, Land of Kachojima*
It was the wedding day--
The big day.
Keito Nakamura was getting ready to go into the chapel and see the love of his life, he straightened his bowtie and top hat, adjusted his suit and opened the doors...
*Clapping and cheering SFX alongside wedding music*
His fiancé was waiting, he walked down the red carpet with flowers, Keito was a good man.
Everyone in the neighborhood knew him as a tailor, he used to make clothes and was quite good at it too, but when he met the love of his life? His passion only grew--
Until this moment, Keito was a good natured Christian man and knew that this was the ultimate contract, a bind so powerful death itself couldn't undo it.
Keito stood in front of his wife, they both said their vows and when the priest asked the question...
Priest: "Does anyone have any objections?"
Someone had the nerve to raise their hand, a man with shining golden hair and amber eyes, Keito didn't know his name at the time but this man was ranked quite high in "The Syndicate".
???:" I think I could give the missus more joy in 10 minutes than you could give her in your whole life."
There was silence... Keito, at that very moment? Never felt angrier.
Keito Nakamura:" You... How dare you?!"
To everyone's surprise, his wife Amy, admitted that this strange man was in fact her lover, a dirty secret she kept from her fiancé for three years now, however her eyes were not normal, they were glowing red...
She ran off the stage in the small chapel, as the strangers eyes flashed with a strange yellow glow, they linked their arms and walked away--
Keito at that moment, through sheer despair and anger had awakened the dormant "holiness" inside of himself, over a hundred giant bubbles filled the chapel and exploded, killing everyone there and destroying the building, the blonde stranger was nowhere in sight, but his wife? She was--
The corpse of his wife landed in front of him, the moment he heard the thud and the explosion and dust faded, he looked upon his passion and wept.
It was 'passion' which got him to this point-- no, it was stupid childish jealousy and anger, and he knew it, he could've done something differently... could have asked a question, but surely not this...
He bent down and cradled her in his arms as the realization hit him, he looked around and finally turned his gaze upwards, towards the now broken ceiling, staring up at the sky...
Keito Nakamura: "Please... Forgive me, cleanse me... Cleanse my sin! God! FORGIVE ME, PLEASE!"
The now destroyed chapel was quiet, he yearned for forgiveness even when his life was destroyed, out of the dust footsteps could be heard, a strange red mist started thinly covering the ground as the sky darkened to a sickening carmen color with hints of black.
???: "Ah... A seeker of love, I am not the one you were expecting, but I am the one you need."
Keito looked up at the stranger before him with tears in his eyes and despair in his soul, it was a man in a red business suit with a red matching hat and a mask on his face, he had his hands outstretched as he looked upon Keito.
???:" You ask for purification and forgiveness, I can grant it upon you-- Follow me, and I will guide your passion. The heart is a fragile thing, isn't it Mr. Nakamura?"
Keito bit his lip to stifle a cry of rage, he looked down upon his beloved.
Keito Nakamura:" Purify...? A sinner like me? Who are you?!"
The Stranger chuckled and stretched out his right hand towards him, caressing his jaw, teasingly so...
???:" I am a man with lots of secrets. Surely you know how to keep secrets, don't you?"
The red mist grew thicker around them as the chapel faded away, Keito with newfound delusion took the man's hand and gave up control.
Keito Nakamura: "Please... Forgive me..."
The Stranger bent down to kiss Keito on the forehead as the groom's eyes started glowing red.
???: "Your sins are forgiven of you, now stand up and purify others for me, go where I send you and do what I tell you, love in turn shall come upon you like Noah's Flood, and you shall drink of it and prosper."
The Stranger chuckled and helped him up.
Keito let go of his wife as the two walked out of the chapel and disappeared into the mist, he was broken and foolish, even though all he wanted was love.
And he was about to get the worst kind of love, controlled and manipulative love.
*Flashback ends, Cathy mercilessly throwing rocks and debris at him with each 'punch'*
Cathy Ariston: "DIE, YOU DAMN BASTARD!"
I looked around and noticed Jack was still on the ground, I ran over even through the hail of tiny pebbles and metal shards and hoisted him over my shoulder, I ran all the way to the inner courtyard and put him down as he leaned on a wall.
James Karawei: "Jack! Are you okay? Man this is too much..."
I gently slapped him until he came back to the land of the living.
Jack Daniels: "Wha-- Oh... Hey James, did we... Die?"
He said it casually like it was no big deal, he looked down at his arm and then back at me, forcing a confident smirk.
James Karawei:" No, not yet... Cathy is still fighting that guy, she's gone berserk! Keito, he said something about 'Divinities'--But that's not important, just rest here, okay? I'll try and rescue Jasmine before he takes her away."
With that I ran back to the outer schoolyard where Keito was now fighting back against with a barrage of bubbles Cathy--
Ranting on about forgiveness and love, half of his skull was cracked and messily patched up with a thin layer of bubble coating, this was a dead man walking.
James Karawei: "Cathy! If you're still sane, bring Jasmine down!"
Cathy snapped out of her trance of rage at the sound of my voice as she turned to face me which got her a bubble explosion to the face and--
It just knocked her back, she waved her hand as the rubble gravitated over to me and the bubble Jasmine was in rolled over.
James Karawei: "Olson! Are you okay?!"
She mumbled something as she barely hold on to life.. couldn't hear her sadly.
I tried smashing the bubble with a sharp rock but it didn't work, I looked around and saw the metal pipe she used earlier and I grabbed it, the bubble smashed with one heavy strike.
Keito Nakamura turned to us as if he had felt the bubble popping and with a strangled cry of insanity he flew towards us, creating spiky bubbles constantly.
Keito Nakamura: "I WILL REPAY MY DEBT TO LOVE! THAT GIRL IS NOW MINE!"
He flew towards me at an alarming rate, my body moved on it's own and surprisingly he somehow got hit and the pipe connected with his right shoulder, knocking him onto the ground and splattering brain matter on my shoes and the dirt and cobblestone, the bubbles hitting the ground.
I had no idea why at the time but I started tearing up, i really shouldn't have... considering what he had done, Keito wasn't moving and Cathy finally calmed down enough to drop the rubble, Jasmine's bubble prison also popped finally, she was barely alive.
James Karawei: "This isn't right... Keito..."
I squatted down near him and prodded him until he flipped on his backside, it was a grotesque scene, all of it.
Keito Nakamura: "James... listen to me, i am sorry..."
He grabbed my shirt and held on for dear life, the red glow from his eyes finally faded and was replace by tears.
Keito Nakamura: "I don't want you to go down the same road i did--promise me, promise me that you won't kill anyone."
He coughed up blood as he barely held on to both my shirt and life.
James Karawei: "Look... this is all INSANE... But i assure you i don't want any part of it, so no, i won't kill anyone... But-- Why? Why did you... who did this to you? WHO?!"
Cathy also floated towards us, still pissed but kept quiet and watched.
Keito Nakamura: "I don't have much time left, i failed my mission and The Boss will come for me so take this... remember me, defeat The Boss, destroy the one called 'Midas', find out more about yourself..."
He pokes me in the chest, where my heart is and forces another big stupid grin... damn...
Keito Nakamura: "Your heart is the most important thing, keep it strong kid..."
He handed me the white rose in his pocket and as he did a strange rainbow glow emanated from my hand as i took it, ensuring a sort of promise between us...
Keito Nakamura: "I am truly sorry... truly sorry..."
His head fell backwards as his smile faded too and he finally.... finally... gave up his life.
