"Don't come any closer. Step back."
His words struck her heart, leaving her confused. Why was he pushing her away when he clearly needed help? He looked pale, sick, and on the brink of collapse.
But her determination didn't waver. Ignoring his warning, she stepped forward once more.
Before she could react, the sound of metal snapping echoed—Lucien had broken the chains binding him.
Suddenly he pounced on her, locking her below him.
Ivy's heart skipped a beat as his sharp gaze locked onto hers. Panic surged as his eyes darkened, primal and dangerous. Then, with a sudden, harsh motion, his hand tore through the fabric of her dress, ripping it and exposing her bosom.
"Ha, Lucien, what are you doing?"
Ivy's heart sank, and she wanted to run. Now she understood what was wrong with him. Lucien was going through his heat, and she had unintentionally interrupted it.
