" The Claw Machine "

(In the evening, around 9 to 10 pm, still at the arcade buzzing with activity. )

( Inside the arcade ):;

...Inside the dimly lit room pulsed with the sounds of electronic beeps, chatter, and laughter. The air was thick with the smell of sugary snacks, the faint hint of sweat, and the sweet aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting from the nearby café.

As Siri focused on the claw machine, her eyes fixed intently on the prize, a gentle voice interrupted her concentration. "Excuse me..." The girl's voice trailed off as Siri ignored her, too engrossed in the game.

The stunningly beautiful Thai girl, Pat, who looks slightly older than Siri, with. her porcelain-smooth skin, delicate features, and piercing brown eyes that shone like dark jewels, stood patiently beside Siri. Her long, raven-black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall of night, with subtle hints of chestnut brown that caught the dim light of the arcade. Pat's full lips curved into a warm, inviting smile, revealing a hint of mischief and kindness.

"Excuse me..." she repeated, her voice slightly louder. Siri still didn't flinch.

Pat's eyes darted around, unsure of what to do. She hesitated for a moment before gently tapping Siri's shoulder. "Excuse me..." Siri's gaze flickered to Pat's hand on her shoulder, her expression twisting into a disgusted scowl.

She slowly turned her head, her eyes locking onto Pat's with a deadly, side-eyed stare. Pat's smile faltered as she realized her mistake. She quickly removed her hand from Siri's shoulder, her eyes darting away in embarrassment.

"I-I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to touch you." Siri's gaze lingered on Pat's hand, her expression unchanging. "Don't touch me again," she said finally, her voice cold and detached.

Pat nodded hastily, her eyes still fixed on Siri's unyielding expression. "O-Okay...I'm sorry." Siri turned back to the claw machine, her focus solely on the game once more.

Pat took a deep breath and continued, her voice slightly shaky. "I'm so sorry to bother you...but I was wondering if I could play the claw machine after you. You see, my little brother really wants that rabbit doll, and I promised him I'd try to get it for him."

Siri's gaze lingered on Pat for a moment before she replied, her voice devoid of emotion, "I'm not interested in leaving. This machine is mine for now." Pat's smile faltered, but she tried to reason with Siri.

"I...I understand. My name is Pat," she said to the indifferent Siri "...and I'd really appreciate it if you could reconsider. My brother is really heartbroken about not getting the doll." She continued nervously.

Just as Pat finished speaking, a commotion erupted from the nearby game stations. The little boy who had been crying earlier came running back, his eyes fixed on his sister.

"P'!!!" (Sister!!!) he exclaimed, tugging on his sister's arm.

( NB: In Thai culture, the prefix "P" (ป์) is a sign of respect and affection, similar to "older sibling" or "older friend". It's often used before names or titles to convey warmth and politeness. )

Pat's eyes darted to her brother, and she forced a smile. "Yes, little brother? What's wrong?" The boy's face lit up with excitement.

"P', are you going to win the rabbit doll for me? Are you going to get it? Pleeease?" Siri's gaze flickered to the boy, her expression unchanging.

Pat smiled reassuringly at her brother. "I'll try my best, little brother. I promise." The boy's eyes sparkled with hope.

"Yay! P' is going to get it for me! Thank you, P'!" Pat's eyes met Siri's, a hint of desperation in her gaze.

"Please, can't you just...?" But Siri's expression remained cold, unmoved by the boy's excitement or Pat's pleading eyes.

Pat took a deep breath and tried again, her voice laced with desperation. "Please, can't you just...?" Siri slowly turned her head, her eyes locking onto Pat's with a cold, unyielding stare.

"I've already told you, I'm not leaving. This machine is mine for now." Pat's face scrunched up in frustration.

"But why are you being so mean about it? Can't you just let my little brother win?" Siri's expression remained unchanging.

"Why didn't you win it for him before? You're wasting your own time." Pat's eyes widened in shock, her face reddening with anger.

"Why do you have to be so mean? Can't you just have a heart?"
