Liam POV
I stood frozen, unable to process what had just happened. Only moments ago, she was here with me. We were lying in my bed, just the two of us, and now she was gone—taken from me again.
My legs refused to move as I watched her disappear into thin air, riding the wolf she was sitting on. Everything about her vanished, leaving me hollow.
Tears streamed down my face as the air seemed to be sucked out of my lungs. I gasped, each breath heavier than the last, while my grief consumed me. We both knew the risks. We knew they would come for her. But I never imagined it would hurt this much, like someone had ripped my heart out of my chest, leaving only the raw, searing pain behind.
In my mind, my wolf let out mournful cries, deep and agonizing, amplifying the weight of my sorrow. The silence around me shattered when my father's voice broke through.
"Liam, what were you thinking?"
