Liam POV
As I entered the church hallway on my way to see my daughter, I was surprised to find Sister Neoni standing there, holding Mckayla in her arms. The sister noticed me, and Mckayla did too. Her little arms stretched toward me eagerly, and a wide smile broke across my face.
No matter how long or tiring my day had been, seeing Mckayla always warmed my heart. Her joy was contagious.
"Look who's here," Sister Neoni said with a beaming smile, bouncing Mckayla gently in her arms.
I stopped in front of them, and Mckayla began squirming, her little legs kicking excitedly. I reached out and scooped her into my arms, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on her rosy cheek.
"Hello, sweetheart," I said warmly, meeting her wide brown eyes. She stared back at me, her gaze filled with innocence and curiosity, and I couldn't help but smile even more.
Then I turned to Sister Neoni. "I brought the porridge you asked for."
