Chapter 141

Haylie POV

I opened my eyes and immediately felt the softness beneath me. This wasn't the hard, sterile hospital bed I'd fallen asleep on. Slowly, I adjusted my body, feeling the lingering heaviness in my limbs, as if I was still waking up from the anesthesia. My surroundings became clearer, and realization struck—I was in Liam's room.

How did I get here?

I glanced down, noticing my clothes had been changed.

The hospital gown was gone, replaced by one of Liam's oversized shirts. A knot formed in my chest.

What had happened?

The last thing I remembered was being put to sleep with anesthesia.

Was I still pregnant?

I threw the blanket off me and tried to stand, but as soon as I put weight on my legs, I collapsed to the floor.

Pain shot through my knees, but it was overshadowed by the frustration of my body's weakness. My legs were still numb, too sluggish from the lingering effects of the anesthesia.
