Jerry wiped sweat off his forehead and looked at the scoreboard someone had scribbled on a whiteboard near the sideline. The starters were winning 1-0, but the reserves weren't going down easy. They had something to prove, and Jerry knew they'd fight till the last whistle.

Sheamus O'Connor, their goalkeeper, was yelling for everyone to stay focused as the reserve team's keeper lined up for a goal kick. Jerry tried to shake off his tiredness and get back in the zone.

The ball got booted down the middle, where Carter Evans jumped up to try and win the header against Jordan Reyes, a tall guy from the reserves. Carter got to it first and nodded it down to Davis Mitchell, who controlled it and quickly passed to Jester Cleveland.

Jester, always creative, flicked the ball up and volleyed it across to Casey on the right. Casey took off, making the reserve left-back, Malachi Porter, backpedal fast.
