Chapter 11: Destruction

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the Yami District, Kimikage and Katakuichi sat at the dining table of Kimikage's family home, enjoying a hearty meal. The aroma of freshly cooked dishes filled the air, and laughter echoed around them as Kimikage's family shared stories from their day.

"Try this, Katakuichi!" Kimikage urged, pushing a plate of savory dumplings toward him. "My mom makes the best in the district!"

Katakuichi accepted the plate with a slight nod, his usual stoic demeanor softening as he took a bite. "It's good," he admitted, a rare hint of appreciation in his voice.

Just as they were settling into the warmth of the evening, the door swung open, and Sensei Gaki stepped inside, his expression grave. The laughter in the room faded as everyone turned to him, sensing the shift in atmosphere.

"Kimikage, Katakuichi," Gaki began, his voice steady but heavy with concern. "I need to speak with you both. It's important."

"Sensei Shidou is dead…" Gaki's words hung in the air like a dark cloud, and the room fell silent.

Kimikage's face fell, tears welling in his eyes. "No… it can't be true!" He struggled to process the loss, his voice trembling.

Katakuichi, though stoic, felt a deep sadness wash over him. He clenched his fists, his expression hardening as he fought to keep his emotions in check. "What happened?" he asked, his voice low and steady.

Gaki took a deep breath, his gaze unwavering. "We need to prepare for the threat that follows. There are dark forces at work, and we must be ready to face them."

As he spoke, a chilling presence filled the room. The shadows seemed to shift, and from behind Gaki emerged a terrifying figure—a shadow demon resembling Sensei Shidou, its form twisted and menacing.

Kimikage's family gasped, fear etched on their faces. "Get back!" Kimikage shouted, instinctively stepping in front of his family

With that, the atmosphere shifted from one of sorrow to one of fierce resolve. Kimikage and Katakuichi exchanged a quick glance, silently affirming their commitment to protect their loved ones and honor Sensei Shidou's memory.

"Let's do this!" Kimikage shouted, his voice filled with newfound strength.
