Chapter 112: Superpowers

Due to a different route, when they finally exited the desert, Yamiru didn't see any landscape resembling Fry-Pan Mountain.

This was good.

He quietly sighed in relief.

It was bad enough that he had run into the three strange figures of the Crane School. If he were to lead these lawless, reckless beings to the Bull Demon King's home and cause trouble, Yamiru knew he would never forgive himself. Earlier in the desert, he had heard Tao Pai Pai complain about earning too little money. If they were heading towards the Bull Demon King's castle… there was almost no reason they wouldn't raid it.

As the distance between Fry-Pan Mountain and the desert area grew, Yamiru's anxious heart began to calm down. It was already too late to worry about Paozu Mountain. He had to start thinking about what to do next.

How could he escape? Should he try to figure out Master Shen's intentions and stick with them for real?

The four of them were moving quickly.

All of them were superhuman, with bodies much stronger than ordinary humans. With Master Shen and Tao Pai Pai seemingly testing Yamiru's abilities, they had increased their speed.

But this posed no pressure to Yamiru. Since arriving in this world, he had become obsessed with running. Whenever he was upset, down, or alone, he liked to go out and clear his head by running as fast as he could. In fact, after parting ways with Tights, due to a lack of supplies and equipment, Yamiru had been holding back his speed during the journey, trying to conserve his energy.

But now that he was under the control of the Crane School's three demons, they surely wouldn't let him starve, right? If they neglected his food, then what was the point of bringing him along?

Yamiru kept quiet, following Master Shen and Tao Pai Pai as they ran, while Tien Shinhan suffered.

The three-eyed boy was now younger than Yamiru's current body. His height was barely taller than Bulma's. He seemed to be around the same age.

Tien Shinhan had kept running non-stop for a full day and night, his face pale, drenched in sweat, and his three eyes almost rolling back in exhaustion. He never once asked to stop, which made Yamiru glance at him in surprise. Was this child from another world genetically different? All three of the kids he had met—Mark, Bulma, and Tien Shinhan—were unusually mature. As for himself, with his Earth-born body, if not for the strange strength brought on by his transmigration, he would have had no chance against these freakish children.

The sky darkened, and as Yamiru watched Tien Shinhan struggle to catch his breath, thinking he might collapse on the road, the two older members of the Crane School, who had been leading the way, slowed their pace.

"Alright, let's stop here for today."

Yamiru kept his Golden eyes activated, subtly hiding their presence. In the dim light, he looked ahead and recognized the figure who spoke—it was Master Shen. Tao Pai Pai, further ahead, was scanning the area. He quickly turned back and called out, "There's a small village ahead. Brother, let's stop for dinner."

"Mm." Master Shen barely glanced at the two boys trailing behind before responding.

Tien Shinhan was so exhausted that his posture was all wrong. His thigh muscles were swollen, twitching involuntarily, and his three eyes were filled with fatigue. His lips were pale and cracked, and when he breathed heavily, it felt like his throat was filled with blood, producing a rasping sound. In contrast, Yamiru, who had been ahead by half a body length, was also drenched in sweat, but his breath had already started to steady. His irritating golden eyes showed little sign of weariness. Master Shen could tell—this boy still had energy.

"Master... Master..." Tien Shinhan seemed to realize that Master Shen was comparing him with the boy next to him.

He tried to say something, but Master Shen interrupted, "Enough, useless child. I'll deal with you after dinner. You're really embarrassing me!" He flicked his sleeve and turned to follow Tao Pai Pai.

Serves you right for being a disciple of the Turtle Hermit! Yamiru muttered to himself as he watched Master Shen's retreating figure.

He glanced at the seemingly dissatisfied three-eyed boy, hesitated a few times, and finally said something kind, "Don't worry, you're amazing. When I was your age, I could barely run a kilometer without dying." It was the truth. When Tien Shinhan was the same age, Yamiru was still on Earth before his transmigration, and whether he could run without tripping was a real question.

Tien Shinhan stubbornly glared at Yamiru, his legs wobbling as he followed his master.

Now Yamiru was left at the back. He wondered if he might have a chance to slip away, but soon realized that Master Shen had stopped moving ahead, seemingly watching and coldly staring at him! Yamiru pursed his lips, lowered his head, and followed. He thought to himself, "Turtle Hermit can sense energy for sure, but Master Shen... can he? I'm not sure."

"Brother, what's going on?"

At the village entrance, Tao Pai Pai noticed that Master Shen's expression was off.

Master Shen scratched his beard, frowning. "This kid is a bit strange. I've tried to use my telepathy a dozen times on this journey, to probe his memories… but nothing has come up."

"How is that possible? Someone like him can resist your telepathy?" Tao Pai Pai found it hard to believe.

"That's what I'm wondering." Master Shen was frustrated. "Not only is he resisting my telepathy, even sensing that I'm using it. Only that old turtle with similar magic could detect it!"

Tao Pai Pai was curious. "Could it be that the old turtle taught him?"

Master Shen cursed, "You think this is some petty trick? Do you think anyone can learn this stuff by simply being taught? Martial arts need to be perfected before one can learn such skills... Wait, no, that's not it."

He furrowed his brows, thinking of another possibility. "Could it be psychic ability? Yeah, that's it. I didn't expect this kid to be a natural psychic, which is why he can resist my telepathy!"

"Now it makes sense," Tao Pai Pai realized. "But psychic abilities… even you, brother, wouldn't easily break through them, right?"

Master Shen frowned, thinking for a while. Just then, the two little boys walked closer, and he muttered, "We'll discuss it later. Let's eat first."

"Discuss what later?" Yamiru was puzzled. What were these two old monsters whispering about?

Tien Shinhan was too tired to care.

The four of them entered the village.

After nightfall, there were hardly any people on the streets of this remote village. Half the houses didn't even have lights on, as if they were too reluctant to turn them on.

While Yamiru was thinking about how these two old monsters were going to find food, Tao Pai Pai had already led the way to the largest, brightest house in the village.

"Well, this will do!" Tao Pai Pai surveyed the house. "brother, what do you think?"

Master Shen, distracted, tilted his head slightly. "It'll do."

"Then it's settled!" Tao Bai Bai kicked the sturdy gate open with a single blow, swaggering to the front door.

The lights in the house brightened as people inside were startled, whispering a few words before a man's voice rang out, "Who's out there?"

"It's your grandfather!" Tao Bai Bai responded coolly, still looking overly self-assured.

He casually kicked the door open, and the warm air and the appetizing aroma of food rushed out. Yamiru sniffed, immediately detecting the smell of meat. He noticed Tien Shinhan next to him, who couldn't help but twitch his nostrils and quietly swallowed.
