The once tiny boy had, in the blink of an eye, transformed into a massive black-furred ape, nearly the size of a castle within the forest.
Who could handle such a terrifying sight?
As expected, just as Jaco had predicted, Tights' family and Dr. Omori were left utterly stunned.
Their reactions varied in intensity.
Tights was a mix of fear and curiosity.
Dr. Brief and his young daughter, Bulma, leaned more toward curiosity with a hint of nervousness. The former was naturally calm due to his genius, while the latter was simply a child's innocence at play.
Mrs. Brief appeared flustered but didn't seem to know how to react, her ever-smiling face betraying no fear.
Dr. Omori, however, was consumed by a mixture of terror and worry.
At this moment, he couldn't help but consider Jaco's earlier words. Perhaps they weren't wrong.
Even if this Saiyan child seemed harmless during the day, once under a full moon, he transformed into such a destructive beast. How could this be allowed?
Jaco declared, "Now you understand why I said Saiyans came here to destroy Earth. Their true nature is one of pure savagery."
"ROAR!"
As if noticing the humans on the ground, the black Great Ape slammed its massive fist toward them in a fit of rage.
"He's completely lost his mind," Jaco said as he nimbly leaped aside. The spot where he had stood was obliterated, leaving a huge crater in the ground.
Everyone was shocked by the ape's destructive power.
Judging by its wild aura and behavior, it did indeed seem as Jaco had described — a mindless beast, attacking anything that moved without distinction between friend or foe.
When the Great Ape missed Jaco, it turned its attention to Yamiru and the others.
Yamiru grabbed Tights' hand and ran, eventually pushing her away. "Go hide with your family! Staying here will get you hurt."
"But..." Seeing her parents, little sister, and Dr. Omori retreating to safety, Tights didn't argue. "You be careful too!"
Yamiru smiled and gave her a thumbs-up before turning back to face the rampaging ape.
"Child! Child!" Son Gohan called out, trying to reach the boy's consciousness. His efforts were futile, though, as the Great Ape's attention turned to him, roaring and charging with the intent to crush the elderly man.
Son Gohan sighed and steeled himself, ready to confront the monstrous form. But before he could act, Jaco flew in with a kick, sending the Great Ape tumbling backward. The massive creature rolled across the ground, nearly crashing into the nearby castle by the small house.
"You see?" Jaco said, landing beside Son Gohan, his tone calm but firm. "Even if you can coexist with an ordinary Saiyan, what good is that? Under the full moon, they become mindless monsters like this. They'll kill you, then kill everyone else, and eventually wipe out all life on this planet."
Believing he had made his point, Jaco reached for his energy pistol.
Son Gohan placed a hand on Jaco's arm, stopping him from drawing the weapon.
Jaco frowned at him in confusion. "You don't seriously think you can reason with this giant beast, do you?"
"A giant beast is indeed a problem," Son Gohan replied solemnly. "It should be dealt with. But killing that child is not an option."
Jaco scowled. "Old man, you're being unreasonable!"
The Great Ape had recovered by now, unharmed and angrier than before. It roared and charged toward Jaco with renewed ferocity, pounding the ground in its wild rampage.
This Saiyan child, barely four years old and born with physical defects, lacked the strength of a fully developed Great Ape. Its attacks were clumsy, relying solely on primitive methods—pounding, stomping, and crashing. Unlike other Ozarus, it couldn't even unleash Ki blasts from its mouth, making it a veritable runt among giants.
Such reckless, simplistic attacks posed no real threat to Jaco or even Son Gohan. Unless Son Gohan chose to grapple with the Great Ape directly, he could easily avoid its strikes. This confidence was evident in his calm demeanor as he spoke.
"I already consider Goku my grandson. I won't let you kill him."
As Son Gohan spoke, he and Jaco both evaded the Great Ape's attacks.
"Goku?" Jaco leaped into the air, puzzled. "Who's Goku?"
Son Gohan smiled gently. "That's the name of my little grandson. The child who fell from the sky, Son Goku."
"What a strange name, just like yours," Jaco replied. In truth, he thought the names of Omori and Yamiru were just as odd, though Tights and her family's names seemed more normal to him.
The Great Ape roared at Jaco, who hovered midair, and lunged toward him. Annoyed, Jaco muttered, "You're so noisy! Quiet down!"
With that, he launched a punch powerful enough to subdue even the giant shark near Omori's island days ago. His fist struck the Great Ape squarely on the head, sending it crashing face-first into the ground.
"You want to get rid of the monster but don't want to harm your so-called grandson. So, Earth's old man, what exactly are you trying to do?"
Jaco landed lightly on the massive ape's back, which resembled a small hill, and crossed his arms, grumbling.
The Great Ape, its head groggy from the blow, seemed even more ferocious as it struggled to rise. However, an immense force pressed its massive head firmly to the ground, preventing it from lifting.
It was Son Gohan, his hands holding the Great Ape's head down with ease.
The ape howled in rage but was unable to exert any strength in its current position, leaving it immobilized.
"Should we destroy the moon?" Jaco suggested, glancing up at the full moon. "Though I doubt that's feasible. It would probably anger Earth's deity — if your planet even has one..."
Son Gohan's position wasn't ideal for holding the ape indefinitely, and it was clear that the creature's struggles were growing stronger. Just as it seemed he might lose his grip, Yamiru approached the ape's colossal, crimson eye, which had turned to face him.
Standing before the enormous eye, Yamiru could see his own reflection in the scarlet pupil, along with a pair of golden irises staring back.
"You foul demon! Surrender and show your true form!" he shouted. "Witness the power of the Three Hundred Nursery Rhymes and the Great Sun Sutra!"
Speaking words no one else could understand, Yamiru's golden eyes radiated a powerful intent.
The ability born from his golden gaze — transmitting thoughts and images directly into another's mind — now unleashed its full potential. Concentrating deeply, Yamiru projected the image of a blazing sun into the Great Ape's consciousness.
A clear blue sky!
A radiant sun shining high above!
Where's the full moon, you foolish ape? Wake up already!
Yamiru's powerful intent, combined with his vivid memory of the blazing sun, flooded the Great Ape's mind. Gradually, under Son Gohan's steady grip, the ape's struggles diminished.
"The tail!" Son Gohan said firmly. "Jaco, cut off his tail! Goku doesn't like anyone touching it, it must be a Saiyan's weak spot!"
Jaco hesitated.
"Come on!" Yamiru urged. "What are you waiting for, elite?"
"Fine, but I'll remind you: Saiyan tails can grow back," Jaco said begrudgingly as he moved toward the Great Ape's tail. "If something goes wrong later, don't blame me. In that case, I'll just..."
With a grunt, Jaco grabbed the thick, furry tail and tore it off in one swift motion.
The Great Ape let out a final roar before its massive form began to shrink rapidly. The thick fur receded, revealing the delicate skin of a young child.
Jaco had already leaped to the ground, holding the severed tail, which had also shrunk back to its original size.
"Phew..." Son Gohan sighed in relief.
"And then what?" Yamiru asked, recalling Jaco's unfinished statement from earlier.
"Then," Jaco said, pulling out a capsule-like device, "I would've had to use this. A special bomb capable of exterminating all humans on a planet while leaving other species unharmed."
Yamiru frowned. "I thought you were here to protect us?"
Jaco replied matter-of-factly, "A foolish planet isn't worth saving. Better to let it be wiped clean and await the next civilization. Planets capable of supporting intelligent life are rare, why waste one on an ignorant society? Understand?"
Son Gohan wrapped his coat around the now-sleeping boy, his expression kind. "But if Earth can tame even a Saiyan, it could hardly be called ignorant, don't you think?"
Yamiru laughed. "If that happens, Earth would become the most suitable planet for immigration in the entire universe! Our planet welcomes all kinds of aliens, they're bound to love it here."
"Let's hope you won't regret it," Jaco said.
"Besides," Yamiru added, "don't you think Goku came here seeking refuge? If this were an invasion, why remove the communication and homing systems needed to return to his home planet?"
"Whatever," Jaco muttered, dismissing the thought.
At that moment, Dr. Omori and Tights' family, having noticed the commotion had ceased, returned to the scene.
