Chapter 194: The Pornography Inspector

In the days that followed, Ryan proceeded according to his plan, appearing to be very well-behaved, so much so that even the intelligence department, secretly monitoring him, was surprised.

By day, he worked at the Fifth Research Institute, occasionally attending research committee discussions. During his free time, he would either stroll around or stay holed up in his room.

Sometimes, he would invite Mobius and the others out for a meal, with their laughter and chatter so loud that even the corridor could hear it. Sometimes, he would call Kevin over. This equally powerful fusion warrior would stay in the room for two or three hours before walking out looking refreshed.

If Ryan kept this up, it would indeed be a good thing. The Herrscher had not appeared yet, and everywhere was in a standoff, so it wasn't necessary for these people to be running around. It would be better to stay at headquarters to prevent a surprise attack from the Herrscher.

And since they were all working, Ryan was involved in various research projects. Sakura and Kevin also began injecting the second-phase super-evolution factors, providing valuable data to the council.

Therefore, the intelligence department had reduced their public surveillance but secretly conducted reverse searches, detecting all the classified materials Dr. Mobius had accessed. And indeed, they found something.

The "Paradise" investigation report, the Herrscher Beast's invasion of Tokyo, the list of agents from Lion City, and... Dusk Street data.

"It should be about time, right? After all, it's a group of professionals."

Ryan sat cross-legged on the floor, supporting his head, glancing at the lively room. It was only thirty to forty square meters, yet it was packed with people. Even Kevin and Mobius had joined the idle gang.

The reason was that Elysia thought of it—she wanted to congratulate Kevin and Sakura for injecting the super-evolution factors, becoming even stronger fusion warriors. Ryan didn't mind; who told Mobius she wouldn't give him any money and still wanted him to take out a loan and work? Overtime was out of the question.

As usual, Ryan prepared the food, Sakura washed the dishes, and then the group sat around the round table, chatting and playing a few rounds of poker.

However, Elysia, with paper notes plastered all over her face, threw down her cards and said seriously, "Gambling is wrong. We should change the game."

"Tch, who's the one holding a grudge from yesterday?" Ryan snorted, played a 2, and pinned Vil-V. "Aunt Mobius, how about a cappuccino?"

This was Ryan's newly invented four-player version of Landlord. The landlord had to randomly call out a card lower than 10 to make them a hidden ally. It had a bit of a werewolf vibe.

As a result, Elysia didn't care and ate up everyone's cards, then couldn't escape herself. Anyone who ended up in her team was out of luck.

"Who are you calling aunt?"

Mobius shot him a glance. She understood the signal and immediately threw out four Jacks.

Ryan glanced at his four 7s in his hand and glared back: 'Idiot, why make such a big explosion?'

'I only have this, just wait and throw a 3 to let you pass, after all, Elysia already gave up and started acting dirty. She's definitely in league with Vil-V.' Mobius curled her lips. Though there was an element of speculation, such a game of werewolves was too childish for her.

'I've already secretly looked through the mirror, her cards are awful, so it doesn't matter. More multipliers for me.'

Ryan secretly glanced at Vil-V, who was hesitating. The mirror he created using his authority was interfered with, so he couldn't see her hidden cards clearly.

"Hurry up, Vil-V, struggling is useless. Maybe Mobius is in your team, and if you blow her up, you'll increase the multiplier."

Vil-V's eyebrows twisted like a caterpillar before finally nodding and throwing out four Kings.

"Oh right, Mobius just gave me a signal earlier."

Idiot, Mobius's signal takes five methods of analysis to figure out what's true and what's false.

Ryan smiled and looked at Vil-V, the player before him: "You can't afford to eat, keep going."

"Whatever you play, I'll blow it up. Every card you play is stuck in my mind, and the probability of you finishing your eight cards in an instant is…"

"Straight flush, I win," Vil-V threw all her cards down, sighed in relief. "Hehe, my luck is really good."

Impossible. I've remembered every card that was played. Even the hand Elysia hid, I secretly saw.

Ryan immediately straightened up, a look of disbelief on his face. How could such a childish game of Landlord escape his observation?

"Ryan, I'm going to put the stickers on now, it's a total of 16 times. I can cover your whole face with them." Vil-V rubbed her hands slowly, walking over, only to have her head pressed down by Ryan.

"Something's wrong!" Ryan snapped his fingers, and a breeze blew up, swirling the poker cards around him like a whirlwind. His eyes scanned the room.

Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed two cards, gritting his teeth and turning his head to look at the girl who had silently crawled away.

"Vil-V, explain to me, why are there two identical red 7s?"

Vil-V pouted, turned around, and stuck out her tongue: "Eh, maybe two decks got mixed up."

"Stop pretending to be cute. Tell me, why are all the cards inconsistent?"

Energy surged, wiping away the potion applied to the cards. It turned out that every card they played earlier had been covered. No wonder Vil-V was so slow with dealing the cards.

"You're cheating!"

"Ryan's cheating too, don't think I don't know."

"He's cheating, but you're performing magic, Vil-V."

"Mobius, you're cheating too. The perfume you sprayed is a neuro-induction agent, making people believe what you say."

Seeing Ryan turn his head toward her, Mobius acted calm, sniffing the air to the left and right.

"Is there? I don't smell anything."

"What are these people doing, playing cards or having a superpower battle?" Kevin watched in awe, stunned by how many tricks there were. He was glad he didn't get involved.

Mei held her forehead and lightly shook her head. "It's a shame that their intelligence is used for such things. So you two should thank me."

Sakura and Kevin blinked and nodded in unison.

"Well, you're all cheating, no wonder I've been losing!" Elysia finally realized, pouting as she ripped off the paper from her face. "I need to punish you, I need to vent!"

"You just suck at playing. If we didn't cheat, you still wouldn't win," Ryan lazily retorted, standing up slowly. "I'll go make you some midnight snacks. That should be fine, right?"

"Hehe, Ryan is the best♪"

Such a little thing to be proud of.

Ryan shrugged. Elysia was the easiest to deal with—just win her over with food.

He thought about how much food was left in the fridge, as he was going on 'vacation' tomorrow and might as well clean it out.

"Who wants some midnight snacks?"

Most people raised their hands, but only Mobius yawned.

"I'm good, suddenly feeling a bit sleepy. Can I borrow your bed to sleep? I still need to do some experiments tomorrow."

With that, she stood up, yawning, and walked toward the bedroom, glancing out of the corner of her eye.

Everyone was chatting or watching TV, even Mei and Kevin were holding hands, sitting on the couch, giving off the vibe of 'dog food' (public displays of affection).

What a good opportunity.

As soon as Mobius stepped into the bedroom, her tiredness was gone, and she quickly closed the door, rushing to the desk where a laptop was waiting, in standby mode.

"Humph, dual password lock, you won't stop me."

With a cold laugh, she typed quickly, the false desktop disappearing as she accessed the core.

He uses the same encryption method as me, heh, how cute.

The desktop was very empty, with a software named 'Watermelon' for writing code. She clicked it out of instinct and found three layers of encryption.

'This code automatically warns when decryption fails? What's hidden so deep?'

Mobius furrowed her brows instinctively, wanting to crack it open and see what's inside. She felt certain there was a secret hidden here, but now she didn't have the confidence. Instead, she began searching for invisible things in the hard drive space.

The mouse clicked away for more than ten minutes before she finally found something.

"Foreign language review materials?" You think I'll believe that?

She casually clicked it open and then froze as she saw a familiar preview image.

This is exactly what's in my computer! When did he find it??

Her head almost exploded. All of Ryan's mysterious smiles over the past few days suddenly made sense. She felt as though her most core secret had been exposed to him, leaving her vulnerable.

Impossible, right. Wait, that night when I went to confront Vil-V, I accidentally left him alone in the lab.

Mobius pressed her lips together, thanking her luck for being cautious. Otherwise, the longer she delayed, the more evidence he would collect.

She needed a way to cover this up, or revealing this card would cause a lot of trouble.

Say it was Klein's doing? That would make me feel guilty. Say it was just research? The quantity would be too large.

I need a reason. I must find a reason. These things expose too many secrets, even revealing my preferences.

Such a hassle, why can't I just silence him?

Staring at the flashing screen, Mobius's eyes dimmed, just as a greeting from behind made her hair stand on end.

"Ah, Mobius, what are you doing?"

She quickly turned around and saw Vil-V standing behind her, having taken off her jacket, glancing at the screen with her mouth forming an 'O.'

For a moment, everything went silent. Mobius stared at Vil-V, and Vil-V stared back. After a while, she slowly took a step back.

"Sorry to interrupt."

"Wait!" Mobius thought about the possibility of silencing her, trying to soften her gaze. "This isn't my computer, and those things aren't mine."

"Then what are you looking at?"

"Of course, I'm exploring that guy's secrets. Don't you want to know what Ryan keeps buried deep in his heart?"

"This... this doesn't seem right."

Vil-V said this, but her body was very honest as she stepped forward, looking at the file names: 'Imprisonment,' 'Bondage'...

"I didn't know Ryan had such dark and deep fantasies."

"That's why it's worth exploring. As the strongest human, every thought of his has research value," Mobius said expressionlessly, not caring anymore. Her secret couldn't be known by too many people, so she quickly dumped the blame on Ryan.

Sounds reasonable...

Vil-V suddenly understood. Though she didn't know how this related to her engineering field, looking at those strange terms was like seeing the gateway to a new world, and some inspiration even began to surge.

"Wait a moment, I'll create a personality."

"You're going to do some magic tricks again, magician."

"Wrong." Vil-V slowly shook her head, pulling out a pair of black-framed glasses from somewhere and putting them on, her expression suddenly serious and solemn.

"Now, please call me the Pornography Inspector."
