The group is all in the RV, heading home after a well-deserved vacation. Priscilla, though needing to return to her own home, decides to stay for the ride. Luna lounges on the couch, completely relaxed and worry-free after their trip. However, she notices that Jamal seems upset, though she decides to bother him about it later.
As she stretches out on the couch, slowly drifting off to sleep, Tera suddenly falls from the ceiling, landing directly on top of her.
Luna, left winded and gasping for air, groans, "Why... Tera..."
Tera nonchalantly points at the ceiling. "Blame the ceiling. It failed to hold me!"
Luna stares at Tera for a long moment, utterly baffled by her response. Then, with a resigned sigh, she asks, "Tera, why were you crawling on the ceiling?"
Tera blinks—first with one eye, then the other—before answering matter-of-factly, "Because the ceiling wasn't going to crawl on itself."
Luna lets out another sigh and lays back down, deciding it's best not to question Tera any further.
Tera hops off Luna and dashes away, leaving Luna lying there, pondering the events of their vacation. As Luna remains lost in thought, Priscilla takes a seat across from her, sipping tea.
"Hmm, what's with the long face, Luna?" Priscilla asks, tilting her head.
Luna blinks out of her daydream. "Oh, uh, just relaxing a little bit more before we have to go on another hunt."
Priscilla sighs. "I see. Jamal seems to be upset about something?"
Luna sits up and shrugs. "Yeah, but I want to give him his personal space."
Priscilla nods in understanding. "That makes sense. It's the sensible thing to do. But if he looks like he's about to do anything irrational, make sure to step in. I don't think he would, but you never know."
Luna nods. "Yeah, I understand. I just hope everything is okay with him. Hopefully, it all works out."
Just then, JJ walks through the RV, whistling. "Oh, by the way, we're having leftovers!"
Meanwhile, Tera swiftly runs to where Sunny is sitting in the driver's seat. She watches her steer the RV before speaking up. "Human, you are operating the vehicle. Why can it not drive itself?"
Sunny sighs. "Self-driving car, huh? Yeah, hell no. I ain't gonna let a machine dictate how my car is driven. I like to be in control of the vehicle I'm driving."
Tera tilts her head. "So then, why are you the only one allowed to steer this vehicle, human?"
Sunny lets out an even louder sigh. "Because I hate people touching my baby, that's why. I've had this RV for a long time, and I ain't letting anyone else drive it as long as I live."
Tera quickly hops into the passenger seat, grinning. "Then let me drive the RV! For I am the greatest of all time!"
As they approach a stop sign, Sunny slowly turns her head to stare at Tera. She says nothing, but her intense gaze alone is enough to intimidate Tera into never asking again.
Tera clears her throat, her voice a bit nervous. "Well then, human, I wish for you to teach me how to drive a vehicle that isn't this one."
Sunny raises an eyebrow. "You want me to teach you how to drive? Alright, I can."
Tera quickly looks at Sunny, eyes wide. "Wait, really!?"
Sunny shrugs. "Shouldn't be too hard. I'll make sure to find an empty parking lot to teach ya."
Tera starts bouncing up and down rapidly in excitement.
The RV continues down a long stretch of road, nothing of interest happening. They pass the occasional animal, plenty of cacti, and a fair bit of desert.
Meanwhile, Jamal lies on his bed, staring at a letter, already knowing what it entails. It confirms the location of his brother's killer in Toronto. He sighs, uncertain of what to do. Does he go after the bastard and take him out? No… He doesn't want to abandon this team. He actually kind of likes everyone here. Technically, if it weren't for them, he wouldn't have even gotten this information.
Jamal sighs again, getting up and heading to the kitchen to grab something to eat. He spots some food sitting on the countertop and grabs a pork steak. "Huh, it's been warmed up. They must've heated leftovers for lunch."
He sits down to eat just as JJ walks by, holding a cup of coffee.
"Drinking coffee in the afternoon?" Jamal asks, raising an eyebrow.
JJ chuckles. "Yeah, I'm feeling a bit sluggish. I was helping Sunny early this morning, loading up and getting supplies for our trip back home."
Rhea now walks in, looking for something to eat. "Oh, hello, Jamal and JJ. Good afternoon."
Jamal glances at her and raises an eyebrow. "It's baffling that you and Luna are sisters, especially since you two look so different."
Rhea sighs. "Because my dad cheated on my mom. But I still love Luna. At least I get this opportunity to actually connect with her now. It just… came at the cost of my family falling apart. Though, I'm not too shocked. That family was incredibly unstable. Especially after Silver died, things really started to crack, and when Luna ran away, it completely shattered. Her running away made everyone show their true colors. And when those weird guys showed up, that's when I had to run away too."
JJ and Jamal both stare, neither really knowing much about Luna's family history, though they are both a little curious. JJ decides to speak up. "So, what was your mom like?"
Rhea pours herself a glass of water and takes a long sip before speaking. "A monster. She would yell at everyone, especially Luna. She was cruel to her. She once forced Luna to burn her Christmas presents because one of our younger cousins started crying after Luna accidentally tripped him."
Jamal scratches the back of his head. "Yikes, sounds like you and Luna's family is really complicated."
Rhea smiles. "Though I had a few fond memories, so it's not all bad. But I'll make the best of this new situation, and you all seem pretty strong, so I'll be safe!"
JJ lets out a laugh. "Don't worry, we'll all keep you safe, so no need to worry!"
Rhea's face brightens up, and her smile looks a bit warmer. "Yeah, thanks."
The day comes to an end, and after a long road trip, they finally make it back to the States, ready for their next hunt!
