The Battle of Elegance (That I’m Clearly Losing)

My debut ceremony preparations were in full swing. And by "full swing," I mean my life was falling apart.

I don't understand why the hell Father decided to launch me at the Royal Palace like I'm some kind of fireworks display. Can't he just hold the debut ceremonies here, at Arlen Mansion? It would be good too.

Oh, yes, he said he wanted to make it a grand event.

Sigh…

Because of this, I had so much pressure on me. I had to walk around people with manners. Which I didn't have. I mean, I was trying to learn, okay?! But still—

You know me. The biggest problem? Not my temper. (Though that was also a ticking bomb.)

The dance.

I couldn't dance.

And since Theodore had said, "Don't worry, Cecilia, I got you an instructor!"

I thought, "Fantastic! It will not be too much trouble."

But looking at this man now... I could see it in his soul. He was regretting every single decision that led him to this moment.
