Encounter with The Saw

Mr. Riggs POV

Whew, that was close.

I haven't told Tyler yet, and I won't tell him now.

That sea monster almost gave me in. My boy can't know I was a pirate.

The PIRATE KING.

I'll tell my story. When I gathered all my treasure on a secret island, I had all my wishes: wealth, fame, and power. I had it all.

But then marines tracked me down, and I had to go on the run. I hid on Middle Town Island and raised a family.

That sea beast... well, when it attacked, I told my son to go belowdecks. After he went, I took my sword I've been hiding:

The Cutlass. Common but powerful. I grabbed it and turned towards the monster. I activated my aura (armament haki). I jumped in the air and slashed at the monster. It gave a loud roar and swatted me aside. I landed on the boat with a thud. I groaned and got back up, then I said, " I'm done playing nice. AIR SLASH!!!"

A large slash of blue energy sailed at and exploded in contact with the sea beast. It roared, got sliced in half, and dissolved into blue dust.

I then called my son back up (after hiding my sword and deactivating my aura, of course), and we continued a good fishing day.

Tyler POV

I still don't understand how my father got rid of the sea beast. He's just a middle-aged man!

Anyway, after the sea monster was gone, my dad and I continued fishing. We sold most of the fish and used the rest for dinner. Afterwards, my dad asked me to go to Mr. Wong's store to get some eggs and fruits he ordered.

I headed over to the store. I greeted, "Hello, Mr. Wong. How are you?"

"Ah, Tyler. Your father must've sent you. Here are the eggs and fruits," he said. He then gave me a basket filled with eggs and fruits like apples and mangoes.

I turned to leave, but Mr. Wong stopped me. "I have a gift for you." He said this and pulled out an orange and yellow fruit with spots in it. " I have been saving this fruit for someone special, and now I know it's you. Eat it and use it wisely."

I did not understand the last part, but I took it anyway. I know it was weird, but I didn't want him to feel unappreciated or something. I then left with the basket and the fruit...

Tyler POV

As I was going home, I looked at the fruit Mr. Wong gave me, and it looked delicious. I wanted to show it to Dad, but it looked so tempting.

The fruit seemed to be talking to me. 'Come on, Riggs, you know you want to eat me.' As I looked at the fruit, I thought, Would it hurt to take a bite?

Oh, this will be good...

Mr. Riggs POV

My son's taking long. What's going on?

Oop. Here he comes now with the basket. "I'm back, Dad." I say, " I was worried for a bit. You took long." Tyler blushes. "Oh, it's nothing. Just... enjoying the breeze."

Something in me tells me he's lying. Is that purple sauce on his mouth? "I see. Let's go inside." Then suddenly we heard a scream in the city. There was suddenly a black and red whirlwind surrounding the buildings before us. Is it...?

My worst fear has come true. A Sharkman with a sword, which is the Shark Saw, comes from the heart of the whirlwind. The Saw. He shouts, "SURRENDER THE BOY OR DIE, ROBERT D. RIGGS!"

I look at Tyler. "Dad, what is going on?" "Run inside; I'll explain." So Tyler runs to the house, and I take out my Cutlass.

Tyler POV

I still can't process this. Where did that guy come from? Was that a sword I saw him use? Why was he blue? Did he summon the whirlwind?

I watch my dad pull out a sword with a yellow hilt. He charges toward the man, and they clash, the impact causing a crater in the ground.

I need to do something, I think. I need to help Dad. Then I see a bat on the floor. I grab it and turned towards the door. I run outside. I see my father and the man sparring seriously, generating shock waves and lightning. I wonder how they can keep balance.

I shout, "Hey, Bluey! Chew on this!" and throw the bat at him hard. It hits him in his abs. He staggers but shows no sign of damage.

"Tyler! What are you doing here?" my dad shouts. I retort, "I wanna help." " Go inside, son."

Just then, a blue fist slams into my father's jaw. He flies back and slams into the house.

"You've grown soft, Riggs. You're no more a tough opponent, "says the blue man. I run toward my dad.

My dad looks battered and weak. "Listen, son. I may not last long, but I must tell you something. We're in a world of pirates and marines, with a lot of martial arts, swords, and powerful fruits."

Uh oh. "What kind of fruits, exactly?" My father says, "Weird looking fruits with special powers."

"Look, I want you to find my treasure I hid on an island. Buy a boat and go over to Pirate Village. You'll find a guy named Bobby. He has a map. I want you to take it and find my treasure. Please."

I had to do what my dad asked, so I said, "Okay, Father. I will do as you say."

Meanwhile, the blue man is gloating proudly. "Is this how weak you've become?" My dad gets up and says, "In the meantime, I'll deal with this bastard!"

He hands me his jacket and dashes towards the man. But then, he is stabbed by the blue man. My father arches his back and falls down.

My father is dead.

And he will be avenged.
