Fargal looks at Masashi and adopts his fighting stance. He moved faster than he expected and as his hands seem to take on a mind of their own. For years, he had trained his body through refinement and martial arts but he never seemed to get better. He took up the family practice and started to learn the trade of blacksmithing and metallurgy so he could earn money for training.
After his contract was established, something seemed to be sitting at the back of his mind and soul waiting for release and it finally broke free. He saw the swords come at him and he reacted almost as if he could see the paths they would go. With a speed that was faster than even his opponents vision could track, Fargal ducked under the blades and hit Masashi in the solar plexus. The force was so strong that bones could be seen and this once proud rich boy was now hanging on for dear life.
Fargal picked up this dying man and carried him down the path and threw him at the guards feet. He looked at the others covered in cuts and bleeding. It looked like some god of death had chased them down the mountain. He heard the guards what happened and Fargal replied with," They sought my beast and my life. I repaid them the debt accordingly. I leave them to you and for you to make sure they are trained accordingly. By law and tradition, they should all be disqualified unless they can contract again. All their beasts are dead and if I was not feeling merciful they would be. I will return in 3 days for the exam.Warn them to stay in camp or I will kill them."
A clear killing intent laced with bloodlust seeped out at the last sentence. He turned around and quickly disappeared. Quickly he arrived back at the site of the massacre and picked up his gear and headed deeper into the mountains and higher up. Shi showed up and looked at him," Something seems to have changed in you and me."
Fargal looks at them both and says," You're right but I don't know what it is. Perhaps we should train together and stabilize whatever changes occured first. We have 3 days to figure it out." With that he hurries up the path seeking perhaps more challenges and at least a dry base for a base. He knows that he needs to figure out what is going on since these mountains will kill you long before the beasts do.
It takes a few hours to finally find a deep cave to go into and wait for a few hours. Once he makes sure the area is secure he lets Shi out and says," I am going to begin my meditation and cultivation. Feel free to guard the entrance or given your level of intelligence we can see if you could learn cultivation methods."
He sits out a few books while he starts breathing. He feels right away a different flow to his breathing and his speed of taking in energy is much faster. As his mind sinks into routine, Shi can be seen looking at the books and picking up one. Just before Fargal feels a wave of energy overtake him he sees the book is a body cultivation method that he has found in his travels. It didn't even seem to be written in Common or any language he understood yet Shi seems to know what it says.
They both begin to do the movements of their methods and night begins to fall after several long hours. While sleep takes them suddenly they are both woken up by pain coursing through their bodies as it feels like they are being broken down and rebuilt.
[Hosts both identified and necessary action taken to improve the facilitation of the new skills and abilities granted by tier 1.]
Screams can be heard as the pain gets to be so strong it's hard to focus. After several minutes, the pain starts to ease up and Fargal is able to open his eyes. He sees the cave around them and smells something terrible. The smells of the cave that he hadn't noticed before seem to be so strong they could strangle him. He was struggling to process everything that's happening when he realized his senses all seem stronger and his body felt heavier.
Shi looks at him from across the cave and Fargal notices Shi looks different. Shi looks to be taller and more filled with muscle. His scales seem to be brighter and he seems to be eating something strange he found. Fargal looks down at himself and sees his body is more of a greyish stone color and his body seems to feel very dense. He stands up and starts to do his cultivation method and it seems to go smoother even though he can tell his power and physical strength have vastly changed now that he is officially a Tamer of tier one.
Shi goes back to doing his cultivation with Fargal and they both notice their body seems to be progressing faster than normal as if the rebirth had molded their bodies into the ideal forms. Fargal looks at the method Shi is using and realizes that the information about it had transferred from Shi to him. The strange sensation of being able to read each other's memories and feelings was strange.
Fargal felt the pain of Shi's loss and even saw his first life which made him wonder just what had he stumbled upon. He saw that Shi seemed to be eating rocks and they were being broken down and refined in his body.
Just what kind of beast was this and what would the next three days bring if they can grow stronger by fighting and maybe also through training.
