Gift of the gods: Episode One

Episode One

Confluence City, a city built between the Romada Empire and the Albionia Kingdom. It was built in order to create a safe place where anybody of any country could live him without discrimination. The city is buzzing metropolis where both ordinary humans and the gifteds could live peacefully too. The major problem of the city was the same problem with rest of the other countries. The problem was demon possession, demons would possess dead living things like dead animals, insects and dead humans. The Anti-demon Ops agency (ADO)are tasked with fighting this threat. Due to the number of demons possession appearing, the ADO gave an age limit of 18 years old for individual to join.

Eric looks outside the window of the bus admiring the city tall buildings. Someone beside him asked"first time in Confluence city". Eric replied"yes" with a confused look. The stranger quickly introduced himself "knut, knut Magnusson ". Eric replies in surprise "you are a Viking like me too". Knut nodded him in affirmation with a smile. "Erik Ragnarsson, nice to meet you ", Eric replies and shakes Knut's hand. Knut asked "what brings you to Confluence city". Eric replies "I want to join the ADO and do my part in the fight against the demon oppressor". Knut replies "you sounds ambitious but fighting demons isn't as easy as it seems, demons are ruthless they don't care about anything, they just kill, you might die". Eric replies "i have never fought a demon before but I won't waver no matter the situation, even if I die I die standing strong". Knut let out a little laugh"you got the Viking guts I like that". The bus stops at the ADO camp and Knut stands up saying"well Eric I hope you fulfill your ambition and I do hope we meet again". Eric replies "yeah me too". Knut leaves the bus and Eric stands up carrying his back and let out a sigh saying "alright here I go ".

Eric enters the ADO camp and meet the registration officer. The officer asked for his name and Eric replies saying his full name swiftly. The officer checks the monitor and looks at Eric's face and gives him the admission ticket telling to go to the second floor to Hall A. Eric goes to the second floor but has trouble finding Hall A. He see a very light skinned boy with dark hair and dark eyes reading a book quietly. He approaches "hi please do you know where hall A is". The boy looks at Eric and points towards the hall."Thanks " Eric says. As Eric is going to the hall he sees a blue haired girl with glasses asking a blonde hair boy and his two friends to return her wand. The girl says "Henry stop it , please give me back my wand". The blonde boy whose name is Henry says "what is someone like you doing in the ADO you should go back to Albionia before you disgrace us here, Gwen". Gwen says "you can't tell me what to do with my life Henry just return my wand". Eric remembers Albionia as the country where sorcerer come from and wanted to intervene. Suddenly from behind Henry, the wand is grabbed and an orange haired girl with carrying a big sword at her back goes to Gwen and gives it back to her. Gwen is shocked and says "Thanks". Henry is furious and says "you this Olympians bitch, quit poking your nose into our country matter. The orange haired girl replied "country you say this is Confluence city I can poke my nose into any affairs and you have no shame bullying a girl, but I can understand you look weak that is why". Henry furiously draw his wand and sent a Small rock boulder at her. The orange haired girl quickly draws her sword and slices the boulder in half and quickly rushes to Henry hitting him with the flat edge of the sword. Henry flys back towards the wall as he looks up he sees a sword pointed at him. The orange haired girl says " Still interested in fighting". Henry looks at his two friends and they draw their wands when suddenly vines come from the ground holding the four of them. Then a pink haired lady appear smiling saying it joyfully "that is enough everyone " The other candidates quickly says her name as Elizabeth Ravenwood. Elizabeth releases them and said "please go sit in the hall" while smiling. Gwen tells the orange haired girl her name" Gwen Merlyn". The orange haired girl sheath her sword and says"Nikki Nikolaou, nice to meet you". As the two girls goes to the hall. Eric sits in the hall looking around but as he sights Nikki he was truly impressed on how she handled Henry. Henry on the other is utterly angry and vows revenge on both Nikki and Gwen. Elizabeth arrives at the front of the student in the hall with a black haired girl wearing a tuxedo suit. Elizabeth takes the mic and introduces herself in a loud voice. "Hello everyone my name is Elizabeth Ravenwood, the head captain of ADO recruitment Camp nice to meet you all". Elizabeth continues talking "First of all, congratulations on being admitted to ADO, the journey you are about to face is not easy but nevertheless you mustn't lose hope, Firstly tomorrow you will be learning about the enemy we wants to all face. It is best to know about the enemy before fighting them, your dormitory are already assigned on your admission ticket, you will be assigned to a team of 4 in terms of squad since you are all recruits you will be called the D-squads. There are also A,B,C squad but only C and D -squads stays with us, A and B squad are in another camp, so the C-squads are your seniors please try and get along with all of them because the ADO is one big family, when you are finally put in squads you will be giving missions to go on and please do all your missions with all your best, Successful missions gives your squad points and the more points you get the more chance of your squad rising to C squad and above, so it is all about teamwork, so thank you every body I wish you all success, have a happy day" She ends her talk jumping up and smiling. The girl in the tuxedo let out a sigh saying"Miss Liza and her antics"

Later in the night, the new recruits settles in their dormitory, the dormitory is a room per person with a bed and a table, the bathhouse is a big one that all the recruits can use at once. Males dormitory is different from females dormitory. The building is 3 storeys with 10 rooms on the second and third floor and a big bathhouse on 2nd floor for all the recruits. The first floor contains the gym , sparring room and 2 official staff rooms. Eric is settling in his room and remembers when his uncle was training him. "Are you tired "Gunn ask an eleven years old Eric. He replies breathing heavily and lying on the snow"yes". Gunn says "it is okay to rest Eric, goals can't be achieved quickly it takes time and patience so be patient you will get there soon enough ". Eric stops remembering and say "am almost there uncle am almost there ".

The next morning,at the boys dormitory, an alarms rings through out the rooms with a man saying shouting wake up bull meats meet me in the sparring room in 10. Eric rushes to the bathhouse and sees the light skinned boy who directed him to Hall A coming out of the bathhouse with a towel on his head. Eric greets him "Good morning ". The boy looked at him and reply gently "morning" while walking away. Eric looks at him in wonder as the boy goes away.

At the sparring room, a bald short man with a red moustache and stern looks appear in front of them and shouts "alright bullmeats I am Grigor and you will address me as Mr Grig". The boys were stunned with the man's height. They recognized his voice as the man who triggered the alarms. About 3 boys suddenly burst into a slight laugh and Grigor sees one of them and asked what is your name. The boy replied"Theo Mr Grig". Mr Grig then asked "do I look funny to you boy". Theo replied looking up"N..no.nno no sir". Suddenly Grig leaps quickly into the air dragging Theo by his shirt down to the ground and says "look at my eyes when am talking to you boy, do l look funny" he shouts. Theo replied looking at him from the ground "no sir". Grig then ask everybody shouting "do I look funny". And they replied in unison "no sir". Grig then says "Theo get back on your feet and all of you have your sit". Grigor begins saying"demons what are they what do they want, well I will tell you what they want, our extinction, the demon wants all of us dead so they can possess us and come reign on earth, because they can't bring their true self to this world they uses dead vessels, insects demons are strong monsters with endurance and durability but they lack intelligence they only seek to destroy and kill, animals demons are very strong they have incredible strength and can also posses dark magic while human demons are the strongest because the Demons true power will manifest within the dead human host, Now we still don't have any idea how this demon possession work but if demon possess a dead gifted human he also get the gifted human abilities plus his own making it stronger than ever, now how to kill a demon possessed unlike insect demons which doesn't have regenerative properties , animals and humans demons have regenerative abilities so the only way to destroy them is to destroy the heart, which kills them instantly or damage their body gravely because their regeneration ability are limited, so that completes the briefing of demons any questions. A boy raises his hand and stand up, he asked " sir can demons possess the living?". Mr Grig replies"good question,the answer is no but there are rumors that humans can willingly give the demon his body in order to gain incredible power but it is just rumors there has been no prove, any questions ". Nobody raise up his hand and Grig tells them to go to the main building 3rd floor to Hall B.

At hall B, Eric sights the light skinned boy and goes to sit near him. Eric greets "hi am Eric this is the 3rd time we are meeting I supposed". The boy looks at Eric and replies gently "Chen yi". Eric in astonishment says wow you are a taoist that sound like a name from that zhongtan place". Chen yi replies it is zhonghan and yes am a taoist". A voice draws the two boys attention "attention everyone I am Knut Magnusson and I will be dividing you into squad". Eric is suprised to see Knut is actually an ADO agent. Knut mentioned the squad numbers and the name of the members. Then Knut calls squad 8 teammates name"Eric Ragnarsson". Knut smiles and continues "Gwen Merlyn, Chen yi Cai and Nikki Nikolaou are the members of C-Squad 8". Eric is happy that Chen yi is hìs teammate and says "so we are teammates isn't that good". Chen yi replies "i guess so". 

At the dining hall, Eric sits with his new teammate and they introduced themselves. Eric ask the others why they joined ADO. Gwen replies that she want to be a successful ADO agent so she can restore her family's honor. Nikki says she is here for the glory of defeating the Demons while Chen yi say he has no reasons or whatsoever for joining he just joined. Eric was surprised with Chen yi answer. Suddenly Chen yi looks up at a black hole appearing at the ceiling and sees a beetle like monster crawling from it. Then everyone started shouting as beetle like monster are falling from the ceiling. The recruits started fighting the beetles . Gwen was slow at summoning her magic and was almost attacked by a beetle monster when Eric jumps in and punch the monster sending it flying. The monster hits the wall with his body cracked it dies. Nikki slays the beetle easily with her sword and is actually enjoying her self. The beetles monster which attacked Chen yi couldn't touch him as he punches them with chi easily killing them. The whole camp is on alert as the battle goes on , meanwhile Knut see a mysterious hooded figure a far and pursue it. Elizabeth is informed about the attack and calls her assistant in tuxedo "Mei inform Grig, the two of you should go check what going on in the D sector". Knut discover the hooded mysterious person is going to a underground base and he follows. Mei enters the dining and use her chi create a shock wave killing some of the beetle monster. Grig with his dagger is seen slicing the monster with quick agility and ease. The recruits are suprised especially with Grig fighting style, he slices the monsters like a maniac but with great speed. One of the recruits talks about a man name little maniac and figures it must be Grig . Mean while Knut confronts the hooded figure saying "who are you?". He doesn't answer but uses magic ice to open the vault and takes the glowing orb inside. Knut attacks to punch him but he easily dodges it and aim a kick at Knut who also dodges it at a great speed. Knut moves fast attacking with series of punches the hooded figure blocks everyone of them and jumps up for a round house kick at Knut but he dodges it with a back flip. Knut is stunned that a sorcerer has good combat skills and instinct he asked again" who are you and what do you want with orb ". The hooded figure creates a wand out of ice and use it to create ice like dagger aimed at Knut. Knut dodges it with speed but as soon the ice dagger stops . The hooded figure has vanished.

Back at the dining the beetle monster has vanished, Eric is happy to have fought demons for the first time but Chen yi says the attack was planned and it is supsicious. Also at the Elizabeth office, Knut reports back to her with Mei and Grigor. Elizabeth says the orbs was Locked away here in secret and it is a part of another artifact but only a few knows it's location. Knut was surprised too because he had no idea there was an underground base. He was also bothered with the hooded person fighting ability for a sorcerer.

After the beetle events, squad 8 walks towards their dormitory with Eric saying that the Demons should be all exterminated for attacking their camp. Chen yi says that why did they attack now and why attack with low level demons. Gwen too is curious with what Chen yi said . They go their separate dorms with Gwen and Nikki going their own way and Eric and Chen yi going their own way.

Elsewhere, the hooded figure kneel before a mysterious shadow, who says "the time is soon at hand finding the remaining two keys is our top priority now". The hooded figure replies "as you wish my Lord".
